Job Description

MYR Energy Services, a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc, serves customers participating in nationwide engineer-procure-construct (EPC), larger transmission and substation construction projects, and renewable energy project delivery. Customers are served through local operating companies or newly established offices for specific projects. MYRE also provides EPC contracting services for renewable and solar energy facilities throughout the U.S. including permitting, energy storage, complete solar facilities, and substation and transmission line interconnections. 

This position has the potential to be located in one of the following locations: Tonopah, AZ; Columbus, OH; or Bartonsville, VA.

You’ll get the opportunity to travel across the US, focusing on sustainability efforts, working a rotating schedule so you’ll have long weekends to relax between projects. We offer $650 per week in subsistence support to help you cover living expenses and relocation assistance.

Essential Functions: 

• Review plans and specifications to develop and implement the quality plan and prepare a checklist of definable features of work that require quality inspections
• List items the sub-contractor must submit for approval prior to the start of the work
• Assist with cost estimates and project scheduling as needed
• Ensure maintenance of accurate records
• Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management, and necessary daily and weekly reporting
• Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements
• Inspect equipment, material, workmanship, and finished construction
• Check the progress of work in the field to ensure compliance with productivities and schedules
• Assist the Project Manager in processing of pay applications, subcontractor billings, and accounts payable
• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and the materials used conform to required specifications
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned
• Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
• Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

Job Requirements

Principal Skills: 

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret applicable construction documents
• Ability to interact with the craft to advance continuous improvements and lean processes
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to think practically while remaining detail-oriented


• Minimum 3 years of experience in electric construction operations of a commercial electrical or general construction contractor
• Experience in project management and/or construction within the solar industry is preferred, but not required

Preferred Education: 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
