Job Description

The Fire Alarm System Designers & Installers will perform all tasks required for the installation of a complete structured Siemens or Simplex fire alarm system in a new or existing construction environment.

Sturgeon Electric’s Commercial & Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. Sturgeon Electric also offers design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Installs, tests and repairs security and fire alarm systems
  • Runs wiring and circuits, installs hardware, and attaches electrical wires.
  • Inspects and tests systems, batteries, and electrical wiring; makes adjustments and repairs as required.
  • Replaces malfunctioning hardware when necessary.
  • Ensures systems comply with electrical and fire codes.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Factory certified in Siemens or Simplex
  • Experience with Siemens and or Simplex systems. Installing and programming
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read installation and system manuals.
  • Ability to read blueprints and building plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical and fire codes.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools to install hardware
  • Installers- 1-4 years’ experience
  • Designer- 5 plus years in designing systems. Proficient with AZ codes and NFP72.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This will be a union position. Wage is dependent on experience and certifications -$24.09 to $30.25/hour plus benefits.
