Job Description

Since its inception in 1973, Western Pacific Enterprises, a subsidiary of MYR Group Inc, has successfully completed many electrical construction projects for commercial, industrial and utility clients throughout Western Canada. Innovation and an enthusiasm for challenging projects have made WPE one of British Columbia’s largest electrical contractors. WPE serves all aspects of the electrical industry. They have built some of the most prominent fixtures of Vancouver and western Canada, including projects such as BC Place Arena, the Convention Centre and the entire Skytrain System. 

The General Superintendent is responsible for the supervision, scheduling, and coordination of all electrical field installation crews.

Essential Functions: 

• Manage multiple field crews and projects
• Responsible for training and development of field crew, foreman, and general foreman
• Build and maintain relationships with the customer, inspectors, and other trades
• Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts
• Work closely with foremen and field crews to ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards
• Manage material and personnel requirements necessary to meet the project schedule and provides the best course of action for construction methods
• Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction practices
• May hold daily, weekly, and/or monthly safety meetings
• Document all violations, provide appropriate notification and recommend and/or implement corrective actions as required
• Responsible for efficient use of materials and equipment
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned
• Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
• Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards

Job Requirements

Principal Skills: 

• Ability to manage multiple field installation crews
• Strong understanding of electrical installations standards and codes as well as construction practices used for electrical construction
• Proficient in the development and implementation of company and contract procedures to include safety, compliance, and documentation of a project
• Certified in CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10
• Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Proficiency with MS Project and MS Suite such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to travel as needed
• Strong work ethic, good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written


• Minimum 20 years of experience in the electrical trades, Journeyman Electrician level or higher is required
• Minimum 10 years of experience n a lead role within the electrical field required
• Must have experience in all aspects of low voltage to medium voltage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
• Experience working with union trades and contacts

Preferred Education: 

• High school diploma or GED
