Job Description

The Regional Safety Manager will manage an on-going safety program by providing for and assisting in the establishment and implementation of plans, policies, and procedures for CSI Electric. This position requires the personal skills to be an effective leader and the ability to inspire individuals by communicating needed changes, motivating individuals to become active participating members of a team and encouraging self-development through a leadership example approach. The Regional Safety Manager will exhibit a personal commitment to CSI's mission and core values and the willingness to demonstrate those core values in all activities performed for CSI or while representing CSI. The incumbent(s) of this position are active participants in the organization and support the changes necessary for the organization’s continued success and safety improvement process.

Duties

  • Interact with multiple levels of customers
  • Mentors and trains all field employees in safety policies
  • Acts as safety resource and advocate
  • Assures quality of work by conducting inspections and making necessary adjustments
  • Plans, schedules, and ensures that teams are working in a safe and efficient manner
  • Offers and conducts safety trainings to teach and reinforce company safety policies
  • Ensures and adheres to safety policies and procedures
  • Conducts safety inspections to ensure electricians are following company safety policies and procedures
  • Managing findings in software system
  • Serves as liaison between the field and office, communicating important information to key project and management personnel

Job Requirements

  • Valid, insurable CA driver’s license
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Office Suite, iAuditor, Safety Mojo (or other safety monitoring software)
  • Ability to read and understand safety regulations and policies
  • Knowledge of, and compliance with Local Union Labor Agreements and State Compliance Laws/Regulations
  • Excellent reasoning skills
  • Proactive attitude and initiative
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing job requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment and display leadership skills
  • Positive attitude and employee safety focus

 

Education/Experience:

  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • OSHA 502 and NFPA standards preferred
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in the construction safety and health

 

Physical Demands:       

  • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs

 

Work Environment:

  • May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions
  • Frequently works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels
  • May occasionally work in areas with hazardous chemicals, and dust
  • Frequently asked to visit multiple job sites in various locations
