Job Description

The Safety and Environmental Trainee assists the team in coordinating the safety and environmental activities of field employees. This is a field position and may require work in varying weather conditions including hot, cold, and wet environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the team in planning, scheduling, and ensuring that teams are working in a safe and efficient
    manner
  • Assists in coordinating safety and environmental trainings to teach and reinforce company policies
  • Assists in implementing and adhering to safety policies and procedures
  • Assists in maintaining schedule for various projects; including hours, materials, and additional resources
  • Assists in serving as liaison between the field and office, communicating important information to key
    project and management personnel
  • Ensures and adheres to safety policies and procedures
  • Conducts safety inspections of job sites

Education/Experience:

  • Previous work experience preferred, but not required
  • Safety experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch

Work Environment:

  • May work in varying weather conditions: hot, cold, and wet conditions
  • Frequently works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels
  • May occasionally work in areas with hazardous chemicals
  • May work in areas with exposure to dust
  • May be required to work out of town for extended periods of time.
