E.S. Boulos also offers design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.

Position Overview:  

The Estimator Trainee is an entry level position; the individual will be trained within the various tasks involved with cost estimation of projects consisting of commercial and industrial electrical installations.  This position will be based in Westbrook, ME and will work projects within the Northeast.

Estimator Job Duties:

  • Assist with estimates for commercial and industrial electrical installations.
  • Understand, track, and monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines in accordance with Company standards.
  • Assist with schedule and attend field job walks with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements
  • Perform take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency
  • Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders
  • Follow-up at the end of a project to close any loops in the estimating process
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
  • The essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company designated office or field location

Job Requirements

Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related math major or equivalent work experience 
  • Prior experience in the electrical construction industry and/or possessing estimating knowledge of preferred 
  • Ability to understand blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services 
  • Able to interpret the National Electrical Code and understand the requirements.
  • Experience with Accubid preferred
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Able to work within a structured environment and follow Company procedures.
  • Ability to travel as required
  • A team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish
