Great Southwestern Construction, a subsidiary of MYR Group, is looking for qualified Underground Distribution Superintendent to fill current and future project needs. travel throughout the state will be required.
Overview
The Underground Distribution Superintendent is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of underground distribution line construction projects. The position is located on sight of project; position requires travel and hands-on knowledge of electrical distribution line construction practices.

Project Cost Review and Performance
Case Management
QA/QC Management
Equipment Review and Scheduling
New Hire Orientation
Works with subcontractors as required by contract
Works directly with field crew, foreman, general foremen and various project personnel to include project managers, schedulers and estimators and vendors
Recommendations for best course of action for construction methods and equipment
Develops and implements project procedures
Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction practices
Document all violations, provide appropriate notification and recommend and/or implement correction actions as required
Responsible for the productivity and progress of contractual performance of the project
Responsible for efficient use of materials and equipment
Responsible for training and development of field crew, foreman and general foreman
Qualifications:
10 years or more experience working with electrical construction projects. Must have prior experience with underground distribution projects
Completion of a Journeyman Lineman program or equivalent
Must have previous experience in a leadership role (foreman, general foreman, superintendent) within the electrical construction industry
Experience working with non union environments preferred
Proficient in the development and implementation of company and contract procedures to include safety, compliance and documentation of a project.
Experience managing field crews of 25 or more
Certified in CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10 & 20 Hour courses
Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents
Seeking candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written and a strong work ethic
Ability to travel throughout project areas to include all of Texas
Salary is commensurate upon experience.
